Impact

We believe that when people work and give together real sustainable and consistent change can happen for people and communities. With your heart for giving, and our knowledge and insight we will guide you to ensure sure all money raised stays within Greater Lincolnshire.

Who we are

Lincolnshire Community Foundation was founded in 2002 and is dedicated to serving our diverse County, delivering positive environmental/societal change and, most importantly, positive outcomes for people and places.

Greater Lincolnshire has a population of circa 1.3 million, is the second largest county by area and includes a mix of urban, rural and coastal areas. We pride ourselves in engaging with communities at a grassroots level and our work is grounded in the value of #ChangenotCharity.

To date, we’ve distributed over £18M to charities, community groups and organisations from Grimsby to Sutton Bridge and Mablethorpe across to Grantham, with emphasis on small grants delivering a big difference.

During times of crisis, it can be difficult to know where to turn for support. That’s where the Lincolnshire Community Foundation comes in. With their deep roots in the community and established relationships with local organisations, they are uniquely positioned to provide assistance to those in need.

Lincolnshire Community Foundation are experienced in raising funds to respond to local emergencies and delivering effective and reactive crisis support to those communities most in need, using 20 years of expertise, local contacts and a vast knowledge of Lincolnshire communities.

Between March and May 2020, the Foundation distributed National Emergency Trust (NET) funding of nearly £400,000 to those frontline community charities, groups and organisations keeping the most vulnerable and isolated members of our Lincolnshire communities fed, connected, safe and alive following the Covid-19 outbreak. During this period, we have awarded grants to over 80 community groups, positively impacting over 12,000 people across the County. The Foundation will continue to assist communities with further NET funding and their own Covid-19 Fund to ensure local money reaches those in most need.

Following the devastating floods in Wainfleet in 2019, the Foundation quickly engaged in local and national fundraising, enabling and ensuring emergency grants were awarded to those households impacted in the town within weeks. Lincolnshire Community Foundation continue supporting the community of Wainfleet throughout its recovery.

In November 2019, the Foundation was approached by our neighbours at Nottingham Community Foundation and asked to manage their Emergency Flood Fund. We used our experience and resource capacity to respond to support people affected by floods and have allocated £40,000 (as at March 20). We received Government match funding of £36,000 in May 2020 and once the Covid-19 situation is clearer, we will take steps to distribute this to help residents in their ongoing recovery.
