Who we are

Lincolnshire Community Foundation was founded in 2002 and is dedicated to serving our diverse County, delivering positive environmental/societal change and, most importantly, positive outcomes for people and places.

Greater Lincolnshire has a population of circa 1.3 million, is the second largest county by area and includes a mix of urban, rural and coastal areas. We pride ourselves in engaging with communities at a grassroots level and our work is grounded in the value of #ChangenotCharity.

To date, we’ve distributed over £18M to charities, community groups and organisations from Grimsby to Sutton Bridge and Mablethorpe across to Grantham, with emphasis on small grants delivering a big difference.

The Trustees and Staff at LCF have been dedicated to supporting the community in times of need for over 22 years. To date, we have successfully distributed over £1.25 million in emergency funding, assisting communities from Grimsby to Sutton Bridge and from Anderby to Spalding. This vital funding has helped communities rebuild and recover, proving that LCF is more than a name—it’s a lifeline.

A Legacy of Responsive Funding

Our experience raising funds and managing emergency response has allowed us to make a meaningful difference to the communities hit hardest by crises. With an established network of contacts and a deep understanding of Lincolnshire’s unique challenges, we can respond to emergencies with agility and impact.

Covid-19 Emergency Response

In the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, LCF provided immediate relief through the National Emergency Trust (NET) Fund, distributing nearly £400,000 to frontline charities and community organisations. This support reached over 12,000 individuals across Lincolnshire, supplying essential services to vulnerable and isolated residents during lockdowns.

Flood Recovery in Wainfleet

When devastating floods struck Wainfleet in 2019, LCF was there to coordinate emergency grants for affected households. Within weeks, families were receiving critical funding to cover immediate needs, and LCF remains a pillar of support as the community continues to recover.

Horncastle Flood Recovery Fund: Rapid Relief and Lasting Support

In October 2023, the community of Horncastle faced severe flooding due to intense rainfall, which left countless homes under water. Responding immediately to requests from local authorities and partner organisations, Lincolnshire Community Foundation launched the Horncastle Flood Recovery Fund to coordinate relief and bring essential support to residents in crisis.

Our team quickly mobilised resources, raising funds to provide direct assistance to impacted families and individuals. The Horncastle Flood Recovery Fund awarded over £29,000 in grants, supporting 140 households in Horncastle with essential repairs, replacement of personal items, and covering basic needs

Air aim is to help residents rebuild their lives and showing how communities can stand resilient in the face of disaster.
