Household Support Fund
The Household Support Fund, is a UK Government initiative, which offers crucial assistance to vulnerable individuals struggling to afford essentials.
In Lincolnshire, this funding is managed by Lincolnshire County Council, which carefully distributes it across schools and early years providers, care leavers in supported accommodation, and the county’s seven District Councils to maximise its impact.
LCF began supporting the distribution of these funds in March 2023 during the fund’s third round, collaborating with district councils in Boston Borough, East Lindsey, and South Holland. We have continued this partnership across successive rounds, working with these councils as well as West Lindsey and South Kesteven to administer the fund’s resources to those most in need. As an independent charity, our ability to provide this support is directly tied to the funding allocated by these District Councils.
We anticipate further news about funding for the sixth round, which will cover the period from 1st October 2024 to 31st March 2025, and will post an update on this page as soon as we receive confirmation and can proceed with distribution.
To find out what support is available in your area, and the criteria please select the District in which you reside using the buttons below. If you are unsure of what district you live in, this will be on any Council Tax statement, or even on your wheelie bin outside.
Please note that this offer of support only covers parts of Lincolnshire – not including North and North East Lincolnshire, City of Lincoln or North Kesteven.
The Household Support Process
Please note that it may take up to 8 weeks to complete the process, not all applications will be successful, those which are not successful will still get a notification from the Grants Team but the process will finish at point 3.
Unsuccessful applicants are reminded that any decision made in your outcome email is final and there is no appeals.
Fill In An Application. Each district page will house a respective application form for Household Support Fund in your area if this is available through us. Completing this form should take 10-15 minutes and will provide us with the details necessary to progress through this process and provide an outcome for your application.
Members of the Lincolnshire Community Foundation Household Support Team will receive your application upon submission. You should receive an email to confirm this. From the point of submission, the assessment process will take up to 6 weeks. We anticipate huge demand for this funding and as a small, independent charity, we are unable to respond to emergency cases. Our team will review your application in this period and decide whether you are eligible and can receive funding or not based on the criteria set in collaboration with district councils. This part of the process may also include a benefits check with the district council, but this will be communicated to you in the application form if this applies to the funding in your area.
Once an outcome has been reached, the team at Lincolnshire Community Foundation will contact you to alert you of the outcome of your application. In our email to you, we will inform you whether your application has been successful or unsuccessful and advise you on the next steps of the process.
If you are unsuccessful, the process will end here. Any decision made in your outcome email is final.
If you are told you are successful, Lincolnshire Community Foundation will then look to get a voucher distributed to you as soon as possible. With the expected demands of the aforementioned process, we would look to get a voucher to you within 2 weeks of the email notifying you of your outcome. We ask that your check all inboxes (including junk and spam) for an email from either Charis or the supermarket themselves with a link to obtain your voucher.
