The object of this fund is to support community led activities that benefit people living in Skegness, respond to local needs and opportunities, deliver visible improvements, strengthen local pride and contribute to the Skegness Pride in Place Board’s priorities.
Pride in Place is a 10 year government programme giving communities the power and funding to improve local spaces, support culture and boost pride in where they live. Skegness is one of the 250 areas that will have £20M investment over 10 years.
Together for Skegness
Skegness is benefiting from significant long-term investment through the Government’s Pride in Place programme, creating opportunities to make a lasting difference for people who live, work and spend time in the town.
The programme has been shaped by local people, with priorities focused on creating a safer, stronger, better connected and more vibrant Skegness, now and for the future.
Lincolnshire Community Foundation is working with Together for Skegness to deliver the community grants scheme, supporting locally led activities that respond to the needs and opportunities identified within the town.
Funding Priorities
In assessing applications, consideration will also be given to the extent to which activities demonstrate community support, deliver visible and tangible benefits, add value to rather than duplicate existing provision, strengthen local organisations or partnerships, secure additional cash or in-kind contributions where appropriate, and create lasting benefits for the Skegness community.
The funding priorities have been set out by the Pride of Place Board, applicants must address at least one of the following and demonstrate how they respond to needs or opportunities identified by the Skegness community:
Activities, events or celebrations, volunteering, heritage, arts and culture that strengthen pride in Skegness and provide more opportunities throughout the year.
Skills, digital inclusion, employability, mentoring, enterprise and activities that improve opportunities for people of all ages.
Reducing isolation, improving physical or mental wellbeing, brining communities together and strengthening local voluntary and community organisations.
Initiatives that improve community safety, help address anti-social behaviour or make neighbourhoods and public spaces feel safer and more welcoming
Improving community facilities, hubs, gardens and outdoor spaces, including projects that make Skegness cleaner, greener and more attractive.
Increasing participation and footfall, animating places, improving accessibility and connections, and brining residents, community groups and local businesses together
